This page provides essential information regarding transportation logistics for the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase, including detailed shuttle route maps, downtown parking guides, and strategic tips for buyers.
Overview of the Tucson Gem Show Shuttle Network
For the 2027 season, the shuttle logistics have shifted. The City of Tucson will not be providing the municipal GemRide shuttle service. Instead, a comprehensive and robust shuttle network is independently sponsored and operated by major exhibitions: JOGS, G&LW, Kino, and GIGM.
All shuttles within this network are completely free of charge, require no prior reservations, and are fully accessible. Attendees can hop on and off at any designated stop, making it a highly practical alternative to navigating unfamiliar streets and dealing with limited parking.
2027 Shuttle Routes and Schedules
The collaborative shuttle system features several color-coded routes connecting the primary hubs. Below is the anticipated schedule for the 2027 season.

Evaluating the Shuttle System
While the sponsored shuttles provide an excellent service, it is important for buyers to weigh the pros and cons against renting a private vehicle.
Advantages
- Cost-effective (100% Free)
- Eliminates daily parking fees
- Drops you directly at venue entrances
- Environmentally friendly and safe
Disadvantages
- Potential for crowding during peak morning/evening hours
- Subject to city traffic delays (impacting schedules)
- Not suitable for transporting heavy bulk minerals
- Requires careful planning to switch between routes
Parking Garages and Lots
If you choose to drive, numerous parking garages and surface lots are available, particularly near shuttle hub locations.
We advise confirming whether your target venue offers complimentary parking before paying for a downtown garage. If your destination provides free parking, you can park there and simply utilize the shuttle network to visit secondary locations.
Downtown Area Parking Guide
The downtown sector features four primary parking structures that connect directly to the shuttle routes. Please note that parking in these facilities requires a daily fee.
